Surat, the "Diamond City" of India, is undergoing a significant transformation with the Surat Metro project. This ambitious initiative aims to revolutionize the city's transportation network, fostering sustainable urban growth and improved connectivity for its residents. Project Details: Two elevated corridors  with a total length of  40.3 kilometers . 37 stations , catering to different parts of the city. Phase 1  focuses on a  21.58 km stretch  between Sarthana and Dream City, featuring an underground section from Chowk Bazar to Labheshwar Chowk. The project is estimated to cost approximately  ₹12,020 crores . Current Status (as of March 12, 2024): Initial plans targeted completion of Phase 1 by December 2023.
